Cabbage Upperi(Thoran)


Cabbage-1 1/2 cup chopped

Green chilli-1

Grated coconut-1/2 cup


Turmeric-1/4 tsp




For seasoning

Mustard seeds

Urad daal-1/4 tsp

Curry leaves



Heat some oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.Add urad daal(uzhunu parippu) and curry leaves to it and saute it.Then add the  chopped onions and green chilli and saute it till the onions become transparent.Then add the chopped cabbage along with turmeric and salt and mix it well.Then add small amount of water and cover it and cook for sometime.You have to take care that it doesn’t get burnt and have to give it a stir after few minutes.After the cabbage is cooked add grated coconut and saute for sometime.Remove from flame.
