“Silent Night……

I love hearing this song during Christmas. It induces nostalgic feelings in me.In our school days we used to sing this song along with sweetness of cakes… 🙂

I was searching for a christmas cake recipe..Suddenly an idea came to my mind.Avoiding all the usual mess why can’t i try a simple and yet delicious treat. So thought of trying marble cake for this christmas.

WISH U ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS

Ingredients
All purpose flour-2 cups
Baking powder-2 tsp
Salt-A pinch
Powdered sugar-1 1/4 cup
Butter-100gm (just under 1/2 cup)
Eggs-2 nos
Vanilla extract-1 tsp
Milk -1 cup
Cocoa powder-2 tbsp

Method

Preheat oven to 180C/ 350F

Grease a cake tin and dust it with flour.Add the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla essence and milk in a bowl. Beat slowly to moisten(I first slightly mixed it with a spatula).Beat with an electric mixer at medium speed for about two minutes until smooth.Reserve three-fourth cup batter and pour the remainder into the tin. Stir cocoa into the reserved batter.Drop by spoonfuls over top of white batter. Using a knife, swirl the cocoa batter and plain batter  to give it a marble effect. Bake it for thirty to forty minutes. Remove from the oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Trust me…Its yummy!!!

Note:If you are baking in a convection oven reduce the mentioned temperature by 25 C and set more time.
